Perfect Toys for Infants 7 to 12 months

Babies are starting to move —they are going to begin rolling to get to items. They may even start to sit, and scoot, bounce, creeping and crawling, pulling themselves up, and standing. They may recognize their own names and songs and words, learn body parts, and pull on things. They find hidden objects and put things in and out of containers.

Suggested toys for older infants:

  • Rolling toys, larger balls.

  • Large soft and wooden block building activities

  • Using items to stand push and pull toys, and obstacles, things to climb and crawl over.

  • Interactive play with—baby dolls, puppets, big chunky trains, and vehicles. Water toys, bath toys, and boats during bath time.

  •  Drop-in and take out—shapes buckets, plastic bowls and big kitchen utensils, stacking rings, and nesting toys.

  • Musical toys, to drum and xylophones to bang on.
